Kid-pitch division teams are built with the intention of maintaining parity between the teams and a competitive season of games. Wins and losses are recorded in the division to create a seeded tournament at the end of the season. Division winners receive trophies. In early March, there is a "player assessment" day where all divisions AA and above registrants participate in a series of skills evaluations. Coaches attend this player assessment in order to evaluate players in preparation for their draft. The league also provides independent assessors in order to ensure team parity when teams are formed, as well as provide additional information for coaches during their draft. Teams will be formed the second week of March through a "player draft." The purpose of the draft is to create balanced teams that will play fun competitive games throughout the Spring season. We work hard to create parity between the teams and consider this to be one of the fundamental differences between our program and other programs in the area. We want to play a game - and enjoy the game - and make sure everyone gets an opportunity to play their best. Beginning with the 2025 Spring Season, we will allow coaches to "protect" up to 4 players prior to the draft, with additional high-round draft picks allowed to teams protecting fewer players. The goal is to allow teams some continuity of culture year over year, while still maintaining parity by preventing "super teams" where coaches protect the division's top players on a single roster. For more detailed information on team formation, please visit our TEAM FORMATION PROCESS page. Registration with KCLL guarantees at least a 12 game regular season, plus a year-end double elimination tournament to declare division champions in divisions AA and higher. While we schedule, and strive to play, 18-20 games for many upper divisions, be prepared for a few cancellations due to our location in the tempestuous foothills of the great state of Colorado. Coaches will attempt to make up as many cancelled games as p
