About West Los Angeles Little League
West Los Angeles Little League (WLALL) is a youth baseball and softball program serving the West Los Angeles, California area, chartered since 1951. The league offers divisions from T-ball through Majors and a 50/70 transition division, playing at its own dedicated fields in West LA.
History
West Los Angeles Little League was approved for membership by Little League Baseball Inc. of Williamsport, Pennsylvania in 1951. The league's original fields at Ohio Ave. and Sepulveda Blvd. were named Bringham Field. Notable alumni include Wes Parker, who won six consecutive Gold Gloves as a first baseman for the Los Angeles Dodgers and was a key member of the 1965 World Series championship team; Tony Horton, who played for the Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians; and Bill Lancaster, screenwriter of the 1976 film 'The Bad News Bears,' which was based on his experience playing in the league. Field lights were installed on the major field in 1997 and the minor field in 2004. The League House was constructed between 2004 and 2007 with donations from league families and a contribution from the Easton Sports Foundation.
