About South Portland Little League
South Portland Little League serves the South Portland, Maine community with baseball, softball, and tee-ball programs for boys and girls. Founded in 1951 and celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2026, it is one of Maine's longest-running youth baseball organizations, committed to teaching teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love of the game.
History
South Portland Little League was first organized in 1951, making 2026 its 75th anniversary season. The South Portland American Little League and South Portland National Little League were organized the following year. Later additions included the Sunset Park Little League and South Portland Central Little League. Softball programs were founded and evolved into their own league before re-merging with Little League in 2023.
