South Jefferson Little League

The SJLL organization is a baseball and softball program located in northern NY in Jefferson County. Baseball teams are made up of players who live in or attend the South Jefferson, Belleville-Henderson, and Sackets Harbor school districts. We are part of NYS Little League District #37. We currently have teams at four levels: U6 (TBall), U8 (Coach-Pitch), U10 (Minor League), and U12 (Major League). Our volunteer coaches are dedicated to the development of the youth in our community. Our goal is to provide a fun and safe way for kids to learn about teamwork and sportsmanship while playing baseball or softball. SOUTH JEFFERSON LITTLE LEAGUE MISSION STATEMENT The South Jefferson Little League is a non-profit youth organization and chartered member of Little League under the rules and regulations set forth by Little League Incorporated. The South Jefferson Little League’s mission is to promote the growth of baseball and softball at all levels for the SJLL community and to provide a positive baseball experience to all. The South Jefferson Little League is committed to: *Governing the league in a manner that puts the development of our players, as both athletes and persons, above other considerations. *Providing a quality instructional program that teaches fundamental skills, tactics, and strategies for the games of baseball and softball. *Providing our players with volunteer coaches who seek to teach those players the rules of the game along with proper baseball and softball fundamentals and are positive role models. *Preparing the youth athlete for participation at the next level of play. *Increasing the skill knowledge with safe healthy techniques and providing safe facilities and equipment for the use of our players. *Promoting and developing core values such as teamwork, sportsmanship, courage, respect for authority, effort, and commitment that will benefit their futures and the communities in which they live. *Supporting the ideal that winning games is secondary to the development of players and to providing our players with positive examples and a positive baseball and softball experience. *Creating a culture in which volunteers, coaches, parents, officials, and athletes work together to achieve our mission.
