About North Asheville Little League
North Asheville Little League is a youth baseball and softball organization serving the North Asheville, North Carolina area for all age divisions. The league is renowned for its strong community spirit, demonstrated most powerfully after Hurricane Helene devastated the area in September 2024 — volunteers rallied to restore fields and deliver a full 2025 season, earning the league the prestigious Carl E. Stotz Little League Community of the Year Award.
History
North Asheville Little League serves the Asheville, North Carolina community and became nationally recognized after demonstrating extraordinary resilience in the wake of Hurricane Helene, which struck on September 26, 2024. The storm devastated homes, schools, and the league's fields. Volunteers, coaches, and families rallied to restore Weaver Field — clearing debris, restoring electricity, and getting the field playable in time to preserve the 2025 Little League season. Their efforts embodied Little League's five core values — community, teamwork, integrity, inclusion, and fun — and earned North Asheville LL the 2025 Carl E. Stotz Little League Community of the Year Award, along with a $5,000 grant from Little League International.
