About Newport Little League Newport Little League is a youth baseball & softball program serving the local community in Newport, RI. The mission of the Newport Little League organization is to provide young players an instructional program covering the fundamentals of baseball, fostering good sportsmanship and teaching the importance of teamwork. Leading up to each baseball season, Newport residents are invited to register their child(ren) (4-12 years of age) to play t-ball, baseball or softball. Players are assigned to age appropriate divisions using the official guidelines of the Little League Organization. Once the registration window has closed for each division, teams will be assigned. Registered players will be notified of their assigned team prior to Opening Day.
