About NLL Welcome to the official web site of Newington Little League Newington Little League is proud to offer a quality Baseball and Softball program for the residents of Newington for the following age groups: Tee Ball - Ages 5 and 6** **Age 4 is allowed as a bonus year to gain extra experience Minor Baseball & Softball - Ages 7 and 8 Little League Baseball & Softball - Ages 9 through 12 Junior Softball - Ages 13 and 14 Juniors Baseball (formerly Babe Ruth) - Ages 13 through 16** **Players are not allowed to play both High School and Juniors. Juniors is available to anyone who does not make a High School Team Challengers Baseball Division - Ages 5 through 18** **Players over 18 are allowed to participate under certain circumstances Please visit our web site throughout the season to stay current with our Little League program. Adults - We are a volunteer organization. There are lots of ways to volunteer, not all of them time consuming. In addition to coaching, we always need people who can lend a hand for an hour or two for field preparations, announcing games, painting, handy-work, concessions, Opening Day, Picture Day, etc. If you are interested in getting involved please call or send an e-mail to one of the board members expressing your interest. NLL BASEBALL Program & Division Commitment Guidelines Practice\Games Breakdown Please note any times listed are to give a general idea of what to expect. Actual times and days can vary based on multiple factors like head coaches' schedules, weather, and/or league needs! TBall – 2 Events per week. Typically, 1 practice during the week with 1 Saturday game/practice - typically 8-10 games in the season. Weeknight typical time is 530-630pm and Saturday is either 9:30-10:30am or 11:00-12pm. (These times are subject to change based on individual head coach availability, weather, and/or league needs.) Minors – 2-3 Events per week – Typically 1-2 weeknight practices or games and 1 Saturday Game/Practice. Weeknight typical time is 5:30-7:00 and weekend games are typically midafternoon. (These times are subject to change based on individual head coach availability, weather, and/or league needs.) Intermediate – 3-4 Events per week – Typically 2 weeknight practices or games and 1 Saturday Game/Practice. Sometimes another Game or Practice is added in if possible as weather allows. Majors – 4 Events per week – Typically any combination of practices and games during the week and Saturday equaling 4 events. Depending on weather it could sometimes be 5 events. Juniors – Typically any combination thereof between Practices and Games not to exceed 6 events.
