About Millbury Little League
Millbury Little League is a non-profit organization in Millbury, Massachusetts dedicated to promoting youth development through baseball. The league emphasizes character, discipline, teamwork, and physical well-being, with the mission of developing superior citizens rather than superior athletes.
History
Millbury Little League was chartered in 1953, founded by Harry Stockwell, Mack Maguire, Angelo DiMatteo, George Gagliardi, and Micky Aubin. The inaugural season featured three teams in collaboration with neighboring Grafton, and the league grew rapidly through the late 1950s into a fully chartered independent organization. Among its notable alumni is pitcher Ron Darling, who played four years at Yale and had a stellar Major League career with the New York Mets and Oakland A’s, winning Game 4 of the 1986 World Series.
