Matthews Athletic & Recreation Association (MARA) is a volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and sponsoring athletic and recreational opportunities for youth in Matthews, North Carolina and surrounding communities. MARA offers multi-sport programs emphasizing fair play, sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal development for young athletes in a safe and enjoyable environment.
History
Matthews Athletic & Recreation Association has been serving the youth of Matthews, North Carolina for over six decades. As a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit, the organization was established to provide youth athletic development and community recreation opportunities, and has grown from its roots in Matthews to serve players across the broader Charlotte metro region.
