About MYS Mason Youth Softball (MYS) gives mason-area girls age 5-15 the opportunity to learn and play softball in an organized recreational league. From 6u-8u coach-pitch to 10u-14u fast-pitch, girls will learn the fundamentals of the game, and grow as a player as they advance through age groups and competitive levels. MYS has both spring and fall seasons and plays within the North Cincy Softball League. The fall season is geared toward instruction whereas the spring season is geared toward competition. With a variety of competitive levels in the league, players from beginner to advanced can get the most out of their softball experience. Come join the fun! Spring Season (Season: April-June, Registration: Nov-Jan) Coach-Pitch 6u: Instructional league for beginners (girls age 5-6 as of Dec. 31 the previous year). No league standings are kept. 8u: for girls age 7-8 as of Dec 31 the previous year. League standings are kept for 8u teams Fast-Pitch (girl-pitch) 10U: girls who are at least nine (9) and still ten (10) as of Dec 31 before season. 12U: girls who are at least eleven (11) and still twelve (12) as of Dec 31 before season 14U: girls who are at least thirteen (13) and still fourteen (14) as of Dec 31 before season. Approximately 14 regular-season games. Winter clinic for 8u/10u (February) Winter indoor training for 10u/12u/14u (Feb-March) All-Star Game in June (weather permitting) NCSL End-of- season Tournament late June (weather permitting) Fall Season (Season: August-September, Registration: July) Coach-Pitch 8u: for girls age 7-8 as of Dec 31 this coming December. Fast-Pitch (girl-pitch) 10U is for girls age 9 or 10 as of this coming Dec 31. 12U is for girls age 11 or 12 as of this coming Dec 31. 14U is for girls age 13 or 14 as of this coming Dec 31. Approximately 7 regular-season games on Saturdays only Weekly week-night practices Fall Pitching Clinics Beginner and Intermediate level fall pitching clinics are available for a reasonable price. Limited space. Look for signups in August. Winter Indoor Clinics and Practices: We offer a free indoor winter clinic to girls in the 8u and 10u leagues. The Clinic is hosted by the Mason High School Softball team. It's a fantastic event in Mid-February! MYS offers free indoor training facilities to 10u, 12u, and 14u teams. Limited sessions per team based on annual budget. Outdoor Practices: Outdoor practices start in early April at Heritage Oak Park on Rt 42. Fields and times will be assigned to each team. Teams will have two practices/week through April until games start. Games: Spring Season: 14 games played between late April and late June When games start, regularly scheduled practices end.
