About Lobo Little League

Lobo Little League is a youth baseball and softball organization serving the Albuquerque, New Mexico community, based at Balduini Park on Bryn Mawr NE. Founded in 1976, the league offers divisions from Tee Ball through Juniors and is committed to developing baseball skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and community pride in young players.

History

Lobo Little League was established in 1976 when Gill Chavez's son decided he wanted to play baseball. Gill found available space at Balduini Park on Bryn Mawr just south of Menaul, behind what used to be the Garcia Motors building. In 1977, Lobo was chartered with Little League Incorporated with one Majors team and one field. By the early 1980s, Lobo had added two more fields and has remained in its original Albuquerque location ever since, growing into a beloved community institution focused on family, friendly competition, and lifelong relationships.
