LYA MISSION Our Mission: Lakeview Youth Association (LYA), established in 2005, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to creating positive and safe sports experiences for children in the Battle Creek, Michigan, area. We aim to foster a supportive community for young athletes, their families, and the volunteers who make youth sports possible. Our commitment includes: Providing athletes with positive instruction to build fundamental skills and confidence. Offering training and resources to volunteer administrators, coaches, and officials to empower them in their roles. Engaging parents through orientation sessions to highlight the developmental benefits of sports and ways to get involved. As a 100% volunteer-run organization, LYA is proud to operate: Battle Creek Area Little League, the region's only official Little League affiliate Rocket Football and Rocket Cheer, competing with other Calhoun County schools Junior Spartans Basketball, competing in the Red Cedar League Lakeview Middle School Soccer Club for boys and girls, competing in the Southwest Michigan Middle School Soccer League Our programs help ensure accessibility to a wide variety of opportunities for youth participation all year round. This policy outlines the expectations for behavior, as well as the consequences for violations. Tobacco, Alcohol, and Drug Use No use of tobacco at any LYA event. No use of alcohol or drugs before or during any LYA event. Respectful Conduct No profanity or offensive language is permitted around youth or towards participants and volunteers. Harassment of officials, coaches, players, or other attendees will not be tolerated, including in person, electronically, and on social media. Good sportsmanship will be demonstrated at all times, including on social media platforms related to LYA.
