About Frederick American Little League
Frederick American Little League (FALL) is a Frederick, Maryland-based chartered member of Little League International, serving the community since 1954. The league provides competitive and recreational baseball for kids ages 3 to 14, spanning tee ball through majors and junior league, welcoming all players regardless of skill level.
History
Frederick American Little League was founded in 1954 in Frederick, Maryland, making it one of the longest-tenured Little League programs in the region. The league has been a member of Maryland District 2 Little League since its inception and has a storied history documented through decades of memorable games, local heroes, and milestones. Early standout Benny Grove signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization in 1965. Pitcher Clarence "Petey" Cooper threw a legendary 17-strikeout no-hit shutout in 1963. On May 3, 1975, the league made history by welcoming girls into baseball. Throughout its 70-plus years, Frederick American has grown from its origins at Angleberger Field to a full youth program serving children ages 3–14 through tee ball, minors, majors, and junior divisions.
