EALL History Serving the communities of northeast Pasadena and Altadena, East Altadena Little League was established in 1953. After playing for 43 seasons at Marshall Fundamental School located on Allen Avenue in Pasadena, EALL moved to its current location at Henry. W. Longfellow Elementary School on Washington Boulevard in Pasadena. February 1997 marked the opening of EALL’s new baseball fields, batting cage, and snack stand at Longfellow. A vast financial undertaking was taken on by the Board of Directors and countless families of East Altadena Little League in order to turn a dream into a reality. Under the impeccable guidance and dedication of Bob Meyers, Chairman of the Field of Dreams Campaign, Pierce O’Donnell, 1997-98 EALL Board of Directors member, James Plumb, 1997-98 EALL Board of Directors President, Karen LeFever, Longfellow School Principal, and George Padilla, PUSD Board of Education President, a unique private/public collaboration planned and completed the project. EALL partnered with the City of Pasadena, the Pasadena Unified School District, Longfellow Elementary School, and the Historic Highlands and Bungalow Heaven neighborhoods which surround the school. EALL raised nearly $400,000 through individual, private, corporate, and foundation donations to complete the project. Heritage Landscaping Inc. of Santa Clarita was the chosen contractor and completed the project in nine months. The project transformed 2.5 acres of asphalt at the school into a park-like setting whose benefits reach beyond East Altadena Little League to the community, the neighborhood, and the students at the school. The original project consisted of building three baseball diamonds (Donley Field and two lower fields), an accessible playground, and a picnic area. Twenty-six trees and 240 shrubs were also planted on the Longfellow campus. In 1998, the upper field was named Donley Field in recognition of the O’Donnell Family whose significant donation enabled EALL to retire almost all of its outstanding debt on the project. In addition, that year marked the beginning of EALL’s Challenger Division. Under the leadership of Jim Gott, Los Angeles Dodger 1990-1994, EALL was the first league in the San Gabriel Valley to offer baseball to any child regardless of his or her limitations through its Challenger Division. 2024-25 EALL Board of Directors Na
