About Coventry Little League Coventry Little League has proudly served our community since 1966. Over the decades, we have grown alongside the Owen J. Roberts School District, continually evolving our programs while staying true to the core philosophy of Little League: providing youth with a safe, healthful, and fun environment to learn the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play. Our mission is to help children grow into confident, capable, and responsible citizens through the joy of baseball and softball. At Coventry Little League, we believe every child who wants to play baseball or softball should have the opportunity—regardless of skill, gender, or financial circumstances. Challenger Division In 2018, Coventry Little League proudly introduced our Challenger Division , a program designed for children with special needs. Challenger Baseball, established in 1989, provides children with the same opportunities to enjoy the game as millions of other players worldwide. Today, more than 30,000 children participate in over 900 Challenger Divisions globally. In 2025 , we expanded our Challenger Division into two teams : Junior Challenger – Ages 4-14 Senior Challenger – Ages 15 and up, with no upper age limit This expansion allows us to provide an age-appropriate and enjoyable experience for all participants. [Link to Challenger League Age Chart] T-Ball Our T-Ball program introduces boys and girls ages 4-6 to baseball and softball in a fun, instructional environment. Coaches are actively on the field, stopping the game to teach fundamentals, ensuring that every child learns the basics while enjoying the game. Baseball Programs Coventry Little League offers baseball programs for children ages 6–13 across Training, Minors, Majors, and Intermediate divisions. Training Baseball (Machine Pitch) – Ages 6–7 Instruction-focused program with coaches on the field teaching baseball fundamentals. Uses a pitching machine to provide consistent pitches (approximately 38–40 mph). Emphasis on teamwork, skill development, and understanding the game in a supportive environment. Minors Baseball (Player Pitch) – Ages 8–9 Introduces player pitching with a strong focus on fundamentals and learning to hit a pitched ball. Players are evaluated before the season to ensure proper placement and development. Field dimensions: 46’ pitching distance, 60’ base paths. Majors Baseball – Ages 10–12 Competitive middle division focused on advanced skills, pitching development, and deeper baseball knowledge. Players are evaluated before the season for proper placement.
