About Clarksville National Little League

Clarksville National Little League is a youth baseball organization serving the Clarksville, Tennessee area, offering competitive Little League play for boys and girls across multiple age divisions. Founded in 1965 as part of a community split from the original Clarksville Little League, CNLL has grown to become a cornerstone of youth athletics in the region, emphasizing teamwork, leadership, and a love of the game.

History

Clarksville National Little League traces its roots to 1950, when local businessman John Maddox inspired the formation of the original Clarksville Little League with support from civic organizations, community leaders, and elected officials. The inaugural season began with four teams playing at the newly built Merricourt Park, celebrated with a downtown parade. As the community grew and interest in baseball expanded, the Clarksville Little League split in 1965 into two separate leagues. Clarksville National Little League was founded by Bob Huddleston and began playing behind Barksdale School with six original teams. Over the decades, the league has continued to grow, adding fields and teams, and has been sustained by generations of dedicated volunteers who have helped prepare countless boys and girls for leadership and teamwork in life.
