About Us About Benicia Little League Established in 1958, Benicia Little League (BLL) is a youth baseball program for children ages 5 through 18. The League operates under a charter granted annually by Little League. More than 100 adult volunteers create an enjoyable sporting and learning experience for over 450 Little League players residing in Benicia, California. The League is separated into varying levels of play so that children participate with peers who are of the same age group and skill level.Little League has three structural components, each dependent upon the other and each vital to the success of the program. 1. Little League Baseball, Incorporated, the administrative component 2. The District, the liaison between various Regional Headquarters of Little League Baseball and the local leagues (BLL is a part of California District 53) 3. Your local league (BLL), furnishing facilities, resources and volunteer services to provide a quality program for children California District 53 includes American Canyon, Benicia, Calistoga, Cordelia, East Vallejo, Fairfield Atlantic, Fairfield Pacific, Middletown Cobb, Napa, North Vallejo, Sonoma Valley, St. Helena, Suisun American, Vallejo, Valley of the Moon, and Yountville Little Leagues. League games are played from mid March through early June. Championship teams from the Minors and Majors divisions compete against the champions from other Leagues in District 53 for one week in early June. All Star tournaments (for 9, 10, 11 and 12 year olds) start in mid June and may extend several weeks or more if the team advances from District to Sectional tournaments and beyond. Boundaries Benicia Little League Boundaries To participate in Benicia Little League you, or your player must reside in within the BLL boundaries established by District 53. The boundaries are as follows: - District 53 California - Benicia Little League - Boundary Description - South, West and East boundaries are the waters of Suisun Bay, Grizzly Island Wildlife Area and the Carquinez Strait. - The West boundary is the city limit of Vallejo and Benicia, West to East follow the city limits up to Lake Herman Road, slight jog North and then South on Lake Herman Road to Interstate 680, Interstate 680 Northeast following the city limits and South to Suisun Bay. Your residency within the league boundaries must be established though the Age and Residency Validation sessions that are conducted in December of each year. There are also Little League waivers that may allow your child to play even though you or your child lives outside of league boundaries.
