About Alpine Little League
Alpine Little League has been a cornerstone of youth baseball and softball in the Peninsula communities of Menlo Park, Woodside, and Portola Valley since 1960. Operating as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and competing in District 52, the league has spent more than six decades building a culture where kids of all abilities find a love for the game — and for the teammates and traditions that come with it. The league's mission goes beyond the box score. Alpine coaches and families are committed to developing baseball and softball skills, instilling respect for the game's traditions, and teaching the values of teamwork, individual responsibility, and sportsmanship that carry well beyond the diamond.
History
In the summer of 2025, Alpine's 12U All-Stars became District 52 champions for the first time in 24 years. The Almanac The run didn't stop there. The team went on to win the Section 3 championship and the California State Championship in Petaluma The Almanac before advancing to the West Region Tournament in San Bernardino — the furthest any Alpine team had ever gone in the postseason. Notable Alumni Eric Byrnes, a Woodside native, played for Alpine Little League before going on to an 11-year MLB career. Tierna Davidson, Olympic Gold Medalist and U.S. Women's National Soccer Team defender, also got her start at Alpine Little League — often as the only girl on her teams.
